SECTION 01

Curriculum

A curriculum that meets and exceeds Illinois State Board of Education and Common Core standards, with Deeniyat and Hifz al Quran woven into the same school day.

TEACHERS

Certified and qualified

Every classroom is led by an ISBE-certified educator holding Elementary Education credentials.

CLASS SIZE

No more than 10:1

No more than ten students to one teacher, so every child gets individual attention.

ACADEMICS

Rigorous, ISBE-aligned

Math in Focus, UFLI Foundations for literacy, Scholastic News for current events, and Mystery Science.

DEENIYAT · TARBIYAT · HIFZ

Woven into the school day

Hifz al Quran and Deeniyat cover the full grade-level Madrasah curriculum, so there's no separate Saturday program.

HOMEWORK

Daily, and mostly Quran & Dirasat

Homework continues the learning developed in class. There is a prescribed amount of daily homework at the elementary level, especially for Quran and Dirasat, plus work not completed in class and occasional projects.

Children always benefit from murajaat, being read to, attending masjid functions, and language development at home.

PROGRESS REPORTING

Two conferences, full report cards

Parent-teacher conferences are held twice a year and both parents are encouraged to attend. Additional conferences can be called by either the family or the teacher.

At the end of each term you receive a full report card. Grades and transcripts are never withheld over an unpaid balance.

LUNCH & SNACK

FMB in thaals, as tarbiyat

Students are served a nutritious lunch of Faiz al-Mawaid al-Burhaniyah in thaals as part of tarbiyat. Families are kindly requested to contribute generously to niyaaz for FMB lunch service.

Snacks come from home. Please be sensitive to classroom allergies — teachers will share specifics before the year starts.

SPECIALS & ENRICHMENT

Encouraged, based on interest

Specials and enrichment activities are valuable opportunities, and students are encouraged to take part in the programs made available to them.

The specials line-up for 2026–27 isn't in the handbook yet.

Everything above is in the handbook

Fifteen pages covering attendance, health, conduct, dress code and technology.
